    2026 Week 2 Dolphin News

Please read through this entire email! We often get asked questions during the week that are answered here!

What an awesome second week of practices with great attendance and the added bonus of Potluck and Picture Day! What a fun evening sharing delicious food and fellowship! Thank you to our Social Chairs for organizing, to our families for bringing food, to Myles for taking the picture, and to everyone that helped set-up and clean-up!

🐬Please remember to keep an eye on your child(ren) while at the pool during practices, but especially during events like the Potluck. We do not have lifeguards at the pool, so your children are YOUR responsibility! When socializing, it is easy to lose track of our kids and it is during these events with lots of kids in the water when we especially need you to be vigilant!

🐬Dive Blocks: The coaches put in the dive blocks this past week for practice and it was very exciting for our swimmers! However, the dive blocks should only be used during the practices per the coaches instructions; all other times they are not to be used. Please help us by reminding your swimmer(s) that they are to be used during practice times only, under the direction of the coaches.

    🐬This Week’s Schedule

    • Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday: Regular Practice Schedule
    • Tuesday, June 2: Time Trials (arrive by 5:15) (Theme: Dolphin Out; see info below)

🐬Meet Themes: Last year a few of our swimmers were creative and festive arriving in themed outfits for meets. This year, we’d like to invite everyone to join in the fun. These are in no way mandatory, but rather a fun way to build community with our swimmers & families and get everyone hyped up prior to the swim meet! These should not replace our team swimsuits, but rather just be a fun way to arrive on deck with some flair! Below is a schedule of themes for our meets:

    • Time Trials: Blue/Teal/Dolphin Out
    • June 9: Hawaiian (in anticipation of our Luau/Foam Party this week!)
    • June 16: Neon Night
    • June 23: PJ Night
    • June 30: Pirates & Mermaids
    • July 7: Red, White, and Blue
    • July 14: Pink Out

🐬Volunteering: We are still in search of someone to train to be our Meet Maestro. Someone who is tech-savvy is great for this role! Please reach out to Lee Ellen or Casey ASAP if you have any questions or need to make changes to your job assignments.

🐬Time Trials are on Tuesday, June 2nd at the BBW pool.

    • Time Trials are a low stress way for our swimmers (and families) to get a feel for how a meet will run. Please review Swim Meet 101 on our Swimtopia website for details on the flow of events! Joanna and Jill will be at practices on Monday if you have any other questions about Time Trials.
    • SwimTopia automatically assumes “attending.” This is both good and bad as we would much prefer to have confirmation that a swimmer is attending, rather than assuming attendance. If you have not already done so, please mark your child attending or not attending by 5pm this evening. (On mobile app>>scroll down to Upcoming Events>>click on Time Trials>>Click on Meet Signup>>Mark your child(ren) attending or not attending).
    • We will begin promptly at 5:30pm with warm ups. Please plan to arrive by 5:15 (at the latest) to get your swimmer settled and number on their arms!
    • All of our older swimmers will swim all strokes (unless they don’t know a stroke yet). The goal is to get baseline times for each swimmer. Most of our 6 and unders will likely only be doing freestyle as many of them are not quite ready for backstroke or breaststroke (they’ll get there soon enough!) and our main goal for them is to get them comfortable jumping off the blocks and swimming with a kid catcher to the rope (with an audience of parents and older swimmers cheering them on!)!
    • We will run this just like a meet (except no relays), so no one is allowed in the pool (even in the shallow end after warm-ups) unless they are being timed for a stroke.
    • If you are signed up to volunteer, please check in at the volunteer table (right as you walk into the pool) no later than 5:30! There will be a volunteer meeting run by our TSA reps at 5:45. If you are signed up for Meet Set-Up, please meet us at the pool by 4pm. Refer to SwimTopia for your job assignment or the email with the master list sent out from Casey & Lee Ellen earlier this week.
    • Please only park in the cul-de-sac or on the right-hand side of the street (as you are coming down the street) before you get to the pink flags in the grass. We ask that you do NOT park on both sides of the street as it makes it very hard for our neighbors to get in and out of their driveways (and hard to navigate down the street to the pool). You are welcome to drop off your swimmer(s) and gear at the pool and then go park. Also, please try to park head first or back in, rather than parallel to the street. We have a LOT of families this year and need to fit as many cars as possible. If needed, you can park all the way up and around the field (on Shadowview and Pacesferry).
    • Bring $ (credit cards accepted) for concessions, if you’d like to not worry about packing your own dinner and snacks (also a great way to support our team!)! We also recommend bringing your own camp chairs as we do not have enough deck chairs for all of our families.
    • Time Trials should take approximately 2 hours.

    🐬Meet Schedule:

    • June 9th: AWAY at Planters Walk (Theme: Hawaiian)
    • June 16: AWAY at JCC (Theme: Neon Night)
    • June 23: HOME vs. Raleigh Racquet (Theme: PJ Night)
    • June 30: HOME vs. Hawthorne (Theme: Pirates and Mermaids)
    • July 7: HOME vs. Black Horse Run (Theme: Red, White, & Blue)
    • July 14: AWAY vs. Meredith Townes (Theme: Pink Out)

🐬First Meet: Our first meet is next week on Tuesday, June 9th AWAY vs. Planters Walk. Please mark your child attending or not in SwimTopia if you have not already done so (On mobile app>>scroll down to Upcoming Events>>click on Coachmans Trail Home>>click on Meet Signup>>mark your swimmers attending or not attending). Please do this for all upcoming meets–see last week’s Sunday email for details and our Meet Schedule above! More information regarding this meet will be provided in next week’s Sunday email.
