    Meet #5 Recap

Although we were small in number (39 athletes to their 111), we were huge in spirit! Southall even complimented us on how wonderful it was to see our older swimmers cheering on our younger swimmers!

    BBW/HL 179, Southall 328

It was the smoothest meet we’ve had with Southall in years! No major outside events, all strokes moved fairly quickly, and we finished right around the estimated end time without any crazy weather events.

We didn’t have quite as many swimmers breaking records yesterday (most likely due to the lack of blocks), but we did have a number of swimmers drop times.

    A few honorable mentions:

    Abbie Kennedy (2 improved events)

    Luke Johnson (2 improved events)

    Hudson Barrett (2 improved events)

    Daniela Davis (3 improved events)

There were a handful of other swimmers that improved in one of their events! On the heat sheet posted at the pool, dropped times have been highlighted, as well as those swimmers that earned points for our team! We are so proud of all of your hard work and effort. We know it’s not easy to go up against a team that has more than double our amount of swimmers, but you each still put 100% for our team! Way to go, Dolphins!

We are so thankful for each of our coaches! They bring so much excitement, guidance, and team spirit to each and every practice and meet. Our swimmers are all excelling under their guidance!

Parents–thanks for hanging in there with us through another very warm evening! We appreciate everyone that volunteered and all of our families that got their kiddos out to Southall this week! We know a lot of our swimmers just started back to school this week, so it certainly wasn’t an easy week to attend a meet and we appreciate those of you that made it (and totally understand those of you that couldn’t!). Special thanks to Romana for taking on a new (and not-so-easy volunteer position–kid-pusher) and Raeanne for guiding her along the way! You both helped manage our swimmers and line-up! Thanks to Kristen O. for keeping our kiddos lined up accordingly at all six lanes and to all of our timers for hanging in there all night! Thanks to Brandon and Scott for keeping an eye on the parking lot and to everyone else that helped out with volunteer positions last night. We can’t run a meet without you–even AWAY meets!

Special thanks to Andrea for filling in for Joanna while she was on vacation. Managing the team is a two person job—and I am very thankful Andrea was willing to step back into her old role for the past two meets to help me out!

Also a huge thanks Kristie Kennedy for all of her help printing, labeling, and distributing ribbons from the past two meets while Joanna was away.

Main event ribbons will be distributed this week at practices.

Today is the LAST day to register for the TSA Championship Meet on Sunday, July 20th–Everyone can swim! Swimmers compete against all teams in our section of the TSA in one last, big, fun meet! Coaches will be there to guide and cheer on our swimmers—it’s always a fun day at TAC!
