Please read through this entire email! Information regarding upcoming events is included!
š¬Meet #3: Our next meet is AWAY at Planterās Walk on Tuesday, June 25th. Please plan to arrive by 5:15 at the latest, so swimmers can be ready with numbers on their arms for warm-ups right at 5:30.
Pool Address: Their address is 901 Lynnwood Road Knightdale, 27545. Please try to park in the parking lot at the pool (please note the parking lot is a one way loop). If no more spaces are available, they ask that we park along Oak Grove and Clay Hill. Please do not block driveways or walk through/between yards to get to the pool.
Seating: We will set up on the left side of the pool. They have lounge chairs but have recommended that we bring our own chairs and pop-up tents to provide more seating and shade.
Concessions: They will have chicken/beef tacos and cheese quesadillas, along with other snacks/candy/ice cream. They accept cash or credit.
Timing: They use the same Time Drops timing system and have 6 lanes.
TSA Rules: Please remember that TSA rules state that no alcohol is to be consumed on deck.
Volunteers: Please review the jobs you have signed up for. There will be a volunteer meeting at 5:45 before the start of the meet.
6 & Unders: 6 and Unders do not swim butterfly, so they are free to leave after they finish swimming breaststroke. Please check with Coach Ben before leaving to make sure your swimmer is not swimming in the final relay before you leave. There will also be a butterfly cupcake race after the end of breaststroke for all 6 and unders that would like to participate.
Gone List: The following families have marked themselves ānot attendingā this meet. If your swimmer will not be at the meet, and you are not on this list, or if your child gets sick that day or something else comes up, please let us know ASAP. Coach Ben @ 919-889-4232, Andrea 561-441-1085, or Jill @ 757-580-4021. Coach Ben sets the lineup on Sunday evenings and it is really hard to change the lineup the day of the meet.

š¬Junior Dolphins: Weād like to extend a shoutout to all of our Junior dolphins that have competed in our recent meets! We are so proud of all of you for taking these big steps! š¬Coaches Corner
From Coach Ben: Iām glad everyone came to the clinic this Saturday. We saw a lot of improvement in one day. I recommend everyone come to the clinics. We have a swim meet on Tuesday against Planters Walk. If you are not coming, please mark it in Swimtopia or let a coach know. Go Dolphins!
From Coach Mindy: Congrats to those who swam in the meet! Good job Mary Shepard Penick, Nora Wagner, Abby Kennedy, June Gorski, and Nora Wagner! Our last home meet is 7/9! There will be many more Jr Dolphins repping in it!
Another shout out to Mary-Shepard for mastering backstroke, her sister Rhodes for starting freestyle and Liam Timmons for shoving off steps streamline with kicks and bubbles!! Wow!!
I am holding regular practices on Tuesday 6/25 and Thursday6/27. The team luau is on the 27th. RSVP thru the Swimtopia app. Itās a fun event! Hope to see you there!
Almost half my Jr Dolphins were out this past week. Either sick (get well soon) or on vaca. Hope you got me a gift! Missed you all and hope to see you this week!
We continue to work on face in water w kicking for the Wee groups. We cannot move forward without mastering this skill. Please work on it with your swimmer in the tub or at the pool.
I have been asked why I am not teaching side breathing with free to my brand new swimmers. For any new swimmers, bringing a stroke together takes a-lot of practice. With freestyle face looking/facing down, bubbles blown, straight legged solid kick and getting arms out of the water. Usually for weeks one of those aspects will get missed. Thereās also getting them to swim straight and not flopping from side to side. This wastes time and energy. It is caused by arms crossing imaginary line of head, or legs not being together with bent kneed kicking. End of season I do work with those who are moving on to big team the side breathing and breast stroke basics.
