🐬What a great week and exciting season so far! 

• Our record is now 4-0! Go Team! 
• We had our annual Luau and had such a great time thanks to the hard work of Elizabeth Dolby, Meg Gibson, and Bryan and Alison Hudson (we need more excuses than just the Luau to have Bryan’s pineapple pork tacos)! 
• We had a great week of practices, and a few more things to look forward to as our season winds down!

🐬Meet #5: Our next meet is AWAY at Wendell Waves on Tuesday, July 11th. Please check your swimmer’s status in Swimtopia now and make sure you are marked “attending” or “not attending” accordingly.

Time: Please plan to arrive by 5:15 at the latest, so swimmers can be ready with numbers on their arms for warm-ups right at 5:30.

Pool Address: Their address is 700 South Selma Road Wendell, NC 27591. To reach Wendell Swim Club, take 540 E to US 64/264 East out of Raleigh to Exit 429. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto eastbound Wendell Boulevard (US 64 Business). Proceed 4 miles on Wendell Boulevard straight into town and turn right onto Selma Road (NC 231). The pool is approximately 1 mile on the left, just outside of the Wendell town limits. Look for a blue and white sign on the left, at the gravel driveway. If you get to Hollybrook Road you've gone too far. Notes on Parking: Park on the left or right side of the pool but be careful not to block in a driver in front or behind you.

Seating: They encouraged us to bring a folding chair and/or a tent with us. We’ll be sitting on the side of the clubhouse and snack shack.

Concessions: They will have tacos, drinks and snacks. Cash only.

Timing: They use stopwatches and have 6 lanes.

Volunteers: We are still in need of an OOF, a timer, and a kid pusher. If you are available and can fill one of these positions, we’d greatly appreciate it. We have a lot of families marked gone this week and we are really short on help! We cannot run the meet without these key positions filled! There will be a pre-meet briefing promptly at 5:45 pm by the shelter.

Parent/Coaches Relay: They would like to have one if time permits.

6 & Unders: 6 and Unders do not swim butterfly, so they are free to leave after they finish swimming breaststroke. Please check with Coach Kyle before leaving to make sure your swimmer is not swimming in the final relay before you leave. They will be offering a 6 & Under butterfly swim for rice krispie treats if time permits.

Gone List: The following families have marked themselves “not attending” this meet. If your swimmer will not be at the meet, and you are not on this list, or if your child gets sick that day or something else comes up, please let us know ASAP. Coach Kyle @ 919-314-7136, Andrea 561-441-1085, or Jill @ 757-580-4021. Coach Kyle sets the lineup on Sunday evenings and it is really hard to change the lineup the day of the meet.

🐬Team Dinner: Monday, July 10th will be our team Spaghetti Dinner at the BBW pool @ 6:00pm. Time to carb-load our swimmers for Tuesday’s Meet! Practices will be condensed:

11 & Ups: 4:00-4:45

6 & Unders: 4:45-5:15

7/8s and 9/10s: 5:15-6:00

Thank you to those who have offered their crockpots and have signed up to help set-up and clean-up!

🐬Last full week of practices: Our last meet is next week, which means this is our last full week of practices (this does not include Junior Dolphins!)! We hope to see all of our swimmers for this last week in the water! 

🐬Junior Dolphins: We encourage you to attend our last home meet on Tuesday, July 18th to get a feel for the energy and excitement of a meet even if your child is not swimming! We’d also love to see you at the End of Season Party (details below)! Please RSVP in SwimTopia if you are able to attend. Please review messages from Coach Mindy regarding practices--Junior Dolphin practices continue until the end of July. 

🐬End of Season Party: Our end of season party will be on Friday, July 21st at Hunter’s Landing Pool from 6:30-8pm for ALL of our Dolphins! Bring your family’s dinner and a dessert to share with everyone. We’ll be handing out final ribbons, medals and trophies, and have lots of time to swim and play all together for one last time this summer! Please RSVP in Swimtopia!

🐬TSA Championship Meet: Saturday, July 22nd at TAC (Triangle Aquatic Center). 10 & Unders compete in the morning and 11 & Ups in the afternoon. Anyone can attend, but we have to get your swimmer registered before next Monday, July 17th, if interested. Look for more information coming out this week regarding registration, times for the meet, and meeting up for ice cream afterward!
