Happy Father's Day to all of our Dolphin Dads!
🐬Meet #2: Our second meet will be at Home against Southall on Tuesday, June 20th. Please be ready to warm up promptly at 5:00 (that means get to the pool before 5:00 so you have enough time to get settled and your swimmer has time to get their number and cap on). We turn over the pool to the other team for warm-ups right at 5:30.
Please consider walking to the pool if you are able, to free up spaces for parking. If you are driving, please be sure to park at the top of the hill to leave room for the visiting team to park close to the pool. We extend this courtesy to the visiting team at each home meet. Park with your car facing inward toward the field to allow for as many cars as possible to park. We are being extra cautious and will have a parking lot attendant monitoring the street using the Hudson’s golf cart. We would like to extend an extra thank you to the Hudsons for graciously lending our parking attendants their golf cart.
🐬We have a few openings for volunteer positions for this meet. We’ve added a new position: Ribbon Counter. This volunteer will count out the appropriate number of ribbons won by Southall after each event, so that at the end of the night they can walk away with all of the ribbons they have earned. This position will require the volunteer to spend most of the night at the scorer’s table. We have also added two more timing positions. Southall has offered to bring 4 timers so we can have two timers per lane. This will be helpful in case we have any technical difficulties. If you are able to cover a volunteer slot we would be extremely grateful. Please sign up now in SwimTopia. (on the mobile app>>view website>>three lines upper left corner>>volunteer signup calendar>>scroll down to Southall meet>>click on the name of the person volunteering>>choose an open volunteer position). Please also be sure you have signed up for 4-5 volunteer slots this season. This does not include volunteering at social events, only meets. We need all the help we can get—we cannot run a meet without our volunteers!
🐬Volunteers will meet promptly at 5:45 with our TSA Rep to review all positions.
🐬Concessions: We will be offering the following at this meet:
Pizza (Cheese and Pepperoni): Pre-Order now! Pre-Orders will be taken until 3:00pm on Monday. https://bw-hl.square.site/product/pizzapreorder/14

(On the mobile app>>view website>>three lines upper left corner>>team store).
🐬Practice Reminders:
- Pre-Practice and Post-Practice, please remind your swimmers that Ms. Mindy might be working with Juniors in the shallow end of the pool. We encourage you to remind them to not disturb them by staying out of the section that she is using. Our youngest swimmers safety is of top priority!
- The chairs in the shade facing the pool are for parents to watch their swimmers, not for towels and gear. We encourage our swimmers to use the lounge chairs, or somewhere else out of the way, to place towels, bags, shoes, etc. When items such as towels and bags are placed on these chairs, it appears as if the chair is taken, and our parents are not able to sit in these chairs for a clear view of their children. Again, safety is of top priority! Another reminder regarding safety: any swimmers under the age of 14 must have an adult present at practice. If you cannot attend, please be sure to talk to another parent to keep an eye on your child(ren).
- Sick Policy: Please do not send your child to practice if they are sick! If your child has had a fever or other illness, please wait at least 24 hours fever-free or symptom-free (off of fever reducing medicines) before sending your child back to swim.
- WALKING ON DECK: Please remind your children to walk on deck. There has been a lot of running and this is unsafe for everyone!
🐬SwimTopia: A really neat feature of the SwimTopia app is the ability to see what your children are swimming on the day of a meet and to see their results during/after the meet. On the main page of the app, scroll down under your names to Upcoming Events, and click on the meet. The events your child is swimming in will be listed here. It also shows what work shifts you have signed up for. If you’d like to see results from a past meet, click on Past Events directly to the right under “Upcoming.”
🐬DATE CHANGE for LUAU: The date for the luau, originally scheduled for this upcoming Friday, June 23rd, has been changed. A new date will be posted soon.
🐬Important Upcoming Dates
June 20th Meet at Home vs. Southall
June 27th Meet Away at Raleigh Racquet
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
See you at the pool! 🐬Go Dolphins!🐬
